AGM Update

Ecko Monarchs have withdrawn their 1st and 4th teams from the League.
The AGM admitted Rainham 1, St Andrews and Havering-atte-Bower 4 into the League.
The new teams will fit in as follows: -
Divisions 2, 3, 4 & 5 will have 3 teams promoted and 2 teams relegated.
Rainham 1 will play in Division 5.
Divisions 6, 7, 8 & 9 will have 2 teams promoted and 2 teams relegated.
Division 10 will have 2 teams promoted and 1 team relegated.
Division 11 will have 3 teams promoted.
Havering-atte-Bower 4 and St Andrews will play in Division 11.

Proposed Rule Change

The sanction for failing to abide by the proposed 30 Yard Rule to be put to this yearts AGM was missed off the letter to Clubs. It should have read as follows: -

In the event of an infringement of any of the above fielding restrictions, the umpire at the striker’s end shall call and signal ‘No Ball’.

Sovereign Cup Final Victory

A superb all round performance saw the T Rippon League X1 defeat the Isle of Wight League in the final of the Sovereign Cup. Surprisingly inserted we lost an early wicket before Captain Phil Bird scored an excellent 52. At 151-3 after 33 overs the League XI looked set for a score in the region of 230 but then Daryll Hymas went into overdrive and smashed the bowling to all parts of the Teddington ground. He ended up with a superb 150 not out, his last 50 coming in just 17 balls. His Pegasus & Corringham team mate Danny Laird scored an excellent 49 not out off 36 balls to enD the innings on 291-3 in the 45 overs.
After lunch the Isle of Wight opener scored a very quick 52 and when he was out in the 9th over the score was 54. After this the T Rippon League side took control and tight bowling by Andy Richardson 2-45, Matt Coleman 2-31, Joe Wilson 2-35 and Gavin Hammond 2-39, backed up by some superb fielding, saw the Isle of Wight bowled out in the 44th over for 197 with the T Rippon League XI winning by 94 runs.
